Okay, on hearing this statement what percentage would you expect to be 'tolerant'?
"As a whole Germans distinguish themselves through a distinct tolerance of Islam," said a parliamentary deputy of the conservative Christian Democratic Union Party, Emine Demirbueken who introduced the report during a news conference
The percentage being touted here is something less than 2/3.
Almost two-thirds of Germans voiced their tolerance towards Islam, saying that Muslims should be allowed to practice freely their religion, a survey, conducted by the conservative Konrad-Adenauer Foundation, said here Wednesday.
I don't know, but having more than a third of the population having 'intolerant' views of any subgroup doesn't strike me as something to brag about.
