"If ye love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest for freedom, go home and leave us in peace. We seek not your council nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen." - Samuel Adams

Hey, we're still relavent. Or at least, we think we should be.

"The new world order must be multi-polar," Putin said following talks with Chinese President Hu Jintao in the Kremlin. "It must respect the interests of all and be built on a clear understanding of international rights," Mr Putin said.

He states this as if the two ideas were somehow tied together. A multi-polar world must automatically assume a 'clear understanding of human rights'. Oh yes, that pole in Moscow for 50 years under Communist rule, offering a 'counter-weight' to America, was very concerned about international rights. I have no problem with a 'multi-polar' world but, let's be honest. The number of 'poles' is not necessarily related to world peace.
