"If ye love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest for freedom, go home and leave us in peace. We seek not your council nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen." - Samuel Adams

This war has featured a new UAV.

The Silver Fox unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) is assisting US Marines to gathering intelligence, relaying the information in real time for operational purposes.

This man-portable UAV is the culmination of a co-operational development agreement between the Tech Solutions department of the Office of Naval Research (ONR) and Advanced Ceramics Research (Tucson, Arizona).

The original air vehicle on which Silver Fox is based was SWARM (Smart Warfighter Array of Reconfigurable Modules), part of an R&D programme funded by the Naval Surface Warfare Centre (Carderock, MD) and ONR.

‘The Silver Fox is providing support security by flying around and ahead of Marines in the field,’ explained Captain Woody Berzins, a reserve officer and a public relations specialist at the ONR.

Eight Silver Foxes are reported to be active in the Iraqi theatre of operations.
