"If ye love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest for freedom, go home and leave us in peace. We seek not your council nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen." - Samuel Adams

This is why a guerilla campaign by terrorists in Iraq will not work.

A U.S. marine injured by a suicide bomber in Baghdad last week said on Wednesday that Iraqi civilians had saved American lives by warning them moments before the man blew himself up.

Marine Corporal David McCallen said the Iraqis, who were helping the marines move sandbags, alerted them as a man with a bomb strapped to his chest ran toward them.

"They tried to warn us. The civilians saved a lot of lives -- they really did," he told a news briefing at a U.S. military hospital in Germany.

But McCallen did not hear the warning. It all happened too fast, he said. The man blew himself up, knocking three of his fellow soldiers to the ground. McCallen who was still standing was sprayed with shrapnel.

Isolated incidents will occur and lives willbe lost to the terrorists but, they are not welcome. They are not fish in a pond. The Iraqis will root them out on their own. They are sick of death and terror and will not aid those among them who wish to murder.
