"If ye love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest for freedom, go home and leave us in peace. We seek not your council nor your arms. I say once we capture Sahhaf we lock him in a room with Chirac to see hwo can come up with the most outrageous reality-lacking statements.

''The reconstruction... of Iraq is a matter for the United Nations and it alone,'' Chirac told a news conference.

Didn't he also assure us that the disarmament of Iraq was strictly a matter for the UN, too? And that we could trust Saddam to cooperate? Of course when he says "UN" he means the same thing he does when he says "EU".
