Some High School students with more rational common sense than Sarandon et al.

Patrick Pettway, an 18-year-old who plans an Army career after graduation from Murphy High School's ROTC program, supports the war but is a little concerned the Iraqis "might come back at us through California, Canada, Texas - or Mobile."

He said he has talked to classmates who say they oppose going to war. "If they all knew what it was about, their views would change," Pettway said Thursday.

Lisa Check, 16, said her stepfather is in the Army at Ft. Benning, Ga. She's concerned about post-war Iraq and the possibility the Iraqis have been "building nuclear weapons for years."

"We might be in for something that we're not expecting," she said.

"It scares me," said classmate Sarah Wilson, 15. "Now and in the future."
