"If ye love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest for freedom, go home and leave us in peace. We seek not your council nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen." - Samuel Adams

The Russians are fleeing Iraq.

Nearly all family members of Russian officials working in Iraq have been evacuated from the country, the Interfax news agency reported Friday, citing the Russian Embassy in Baghdad. The Russian Embassy also closed its school and sent the teaching staff home, Interfax said.

I would say this is good proof that they will not veto the US/UK/Spain Resolution in the UNSC. This seems to indicate that they believe war will happen. If this is true why would they throw away the new ties forged with America since Sept 11th (in order to get closer to a stalled Franco/German economy?) and why would they risk the chance that their veto leading to a freeze out on debt and future and existing with a new Iraq? I think their threat was just a reminder that they need to be involved here. Putin is too much of a Real Politik devotee to throw everything away on a veto that would do more harm to Russia in the long run.
