"If ye love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest for freedom, go home and leave us in peace. We seek not your council nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen." - Samuel Adams

Canada is telling familiy members of Embassy staff in Kuwait that they should leave the country.

Canada on Thursday told families of expatriate staff at its embassy in Saudi Arabia to leave the Arab state, and urged other Canadians in the country also to consider leaving.

"In light of the uncertainty regarding the security situation in the Middle East and Gulf region, the government of Canada has decided to remove all dependents of Canada-based staff from its embassy in Riyadh," a warden's notice issued by the embassy said.

"In light of the heightened risk to Canadians in Saudi Arabia we suggest that you seriously consider whether it is essential for you and your family to remain."
