Otto von Bismark's great-great grandson is entering politics.

With the lame economy turning the national mood against the center-left government of Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder, he hopes to benefit in September and capture from the Social Democrats the northern district of 280,000 where Friedrichsruh Castle is located.

Bismarck has locked on to the message of Schroeder's challenger, Edmund Stoiber: lower taxes and deregulation, especially for small and midsize businesses. ``I'm in business too, and I know the problems,'' he said.
