The FBI is now investigating a the US Coast Guard official who gave us the warning that militants were sneaking in through our ports, for doing what they won't do. Give us some specifics. Particularly galling for many was the fact that Capt Holmes spearheaded the development of the country's first port security plan, following the Sept 11 terrorist attacks, which was subsequently adopted by the Coast Guard's entire Pacific Command. The JOC report also noted that industry leaders were baffled as to why he was being disciplined for what government agencies have been roundly criticised for not doing - sharing information that could prevent more terrorist attacks.
