In the cutting off your nose to spite your face category. Some Palestinian groups are calling for a boycott of the US. In an ironic twist what they are calling for is the refusal of American Aid money?
The statement called on ``all Palestinian non-governmental organizations to refuse any form of cooperation with USAID and turn down any USAID direct or indirect grants ... in protest of the American official support for (the) Israeli government's crimes against our people.''
So far the call has the backing of a total of 84 groups including: Fatah, LAW (a Palestinian human rights group), Haider Abdel Shafi, a prominent Gaza figure; The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine and Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine, radical groups; two universities, and several members of the Palestinian parliament.
