"If ye love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest for freedom, go home and leave us in peace. We seek not your council nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen." - Samuel Adams

Meanwhile, Kofi pretends that Mugabe is a reasonable and rational leader that has not, is not and will not resort to mass murder.

The Secretary-General urged the organizers of the mass action, the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC), to ensure that their action remained peaceful and within the law, according to a statement released by a spokesman for Mr. Annan Monday evening.

“He urges the Government of Zimbabwe to respect the basic principles of freedom of expression and assembly as well as the human rights of those participating in the mass action, and to exercise maximum restraint in dealing with the situation,” the statement said.

“The Secretary-General reiterates his continued support for and readiness to contribute to the search for a negotiated solution of the serious difficulties facing the country,” the statement added.

Everything will be fine. We just need to get around a table with these people. This total and complete willfull ignorance in the face of the realities in places like Zimbabwe are what have totally soured me on the UN. When mobs of Mugabe backed police and militia rampage, murder, rape and kill anything in their way with full government support and backing it is time to end the charade of 'dialogue'. While you talk Mugabe's thugs kill.
