"If ye love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest for freedom, go home and leave us in peace. We seek not your council nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen." - Samuel Adams

I think Russian foreign policy is schizophrenic. Iran is dangerous, they're not dangerous so we'll assist their goal of nuclear capability. Saddam is danger, Saddam isn't a danger so let's drop the sanctions. We can't forgive the debt that Saddam ran up buying weapons from us, well maybe we can consider gving up some of that debt.

Russia is ready to join efforts, which the international community undertakes with the purpose of reconsidering Iraqi debts. Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Igor Ivanov has declared it to American newspaper Wall Street Journal.

Moscow, according to Ivanov, realizes that reconsidering of debts of Baghdad is a very important question and consequently Russian government is ready to take part in this decision together with other states. Aspiring to restore Iraq USA can face serious problems in connection with large debts of the country, which will take out about half of petroleum export- the basic source of incomes of Baghdad.
