"If ye love wealth greater than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest for freedom, go home and leave us in peace. We seek not your council nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen." - Samuel Adams

America has a tough time knowing exactly what is going on inside Iran because we have no diplomatic relations with them. What is Russia's excuse?

Russia asked Iran on Tuesday to provide guarantees that it is not using its atomic energy program as a cover to develop nuclear weapons, the strongest sign yet that U.S. concerns are being taken seriously in Moscow.

Russia's Foreign Ministry said Deputy Foreign Minister Georgy Mamedov met Tuesday with Iranian Ambassador Gholamreza Shafei and expressed concern about the existence of "serious, unresolved questions in connection with Iran's nuclear research."

Mamedov said Iran should sign "as soon as possible" an additional agreement with the IAEA to put Tehran's nuclear facilities under closer scrutiny. He also said the U.N. agency should thoroughly discuss the matter at its meeting in June.

For one. Russia is building that atomic program. For two. Russia has constantly assured us that Iran has no atomic weapon aspirations. For three. Are they going to trust an 'assurance' from the ruling ayatollahs of Iran?
